| Scott A. Slater - Chairman/V.P. Finance |
| Scott Slater is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Bowling Green State University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He has been employed by Toledo Engineering Co., Inc. (TECO) since January 1979 serving as Controller (1979-1980), Treasurer (1980-1988), Vice President-Finance (1988-2002), Vice Chairman/V.P. Finance (2002-2004), and currently as Chairman. Prior to his employment with TECO, Mr. Slater worked for Ernst and Ernst as a Supervisor on the audit staff. Mr. Slater oversees the operations of all the TECO group’s entities. Mr. Slater is involved in customer relations, contract negotiations and coordination of the inter-group activities. He oversees general operations, finance, purchasing, personnel, legal and insurance issues. |
| Fred C. Paulsen - President & COO |
| Fred Paulsen is a graduate of Lawrence Institute of Technology where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mr. Paulsen also attended the University of Tulsa and Eastern Michigan University where he pursued a Masters Degree in Business Administration. Mr. Paulsen has been employed by Toledo Engineering Co., Inc. (TECO), since 1994 serving as Vice President Operations (1994-2003), and is currently President and COO. Mr. Paulsen directs all the operating departments of the company. He leads the engineering, estimating and construction groups and works closely with the clients to assure projects are completed on time and performance is in accordance with the contract requirements. Prior to his employment by TECO, Mr. Paulsen was employed by Ford Motor Company in various engineering capacities (1965-1978). In 1978, Mr. Paulsen moved to AFG Industries and served as Vice President-Engineering (1978-1994). During Mr. Paulsen's tenure at AFG, he was responsible for building 4 new glass plants, 2 new process lines and 16 rebuild projects. During his entire glass industry employment he has had involvement with 11 new plants, 24 new process lines and 60 rebuilds. |
| Todd Seifried - Vice President of Operations |
| Todd Seifried is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree. He also has an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. Mr. Seifried has been employed by Toledo Engineering Co., Inc. (TECO) since 1996 as Project Engineer (1996-2000), Operations Administrative Manager (2000-2002) and Director of Engineering and Operations (2000-2004). Since joining TECO he has implemented projects totaling approximately $100 million ranging from batch plants to electric furnaces to complete plants. In his current position, he is responsible for interdepartmental project planning and engineering implementation. Prior to joining TECO, Mr. Seifried was employed by General Electric as a Process Engineer and Business Team Leader. He is also a graduate of GE's Manufacturing Management Program. |
| Richard C. Carle - Vice President, Project Management |
| Richard Carle attended the University of Toledo where he studied electrical engineering. Mr. Carle has been employed by Toledo Engineering Co., Inc. (TECO) since 1970. During this time, he has served as Electrical Engineer (1970-1977), Project engineer (1977-1980), Manager/Electric Furnace Projects (1980-1987), Director of Engineering (1987-1998), Director of Holloware Projects (1998-2002) and is currently Vice President, Project Management and Chairman of TECOGLAS, Ltd. His current responsibilities include the technical direction and coordination of all projects within the Company. He also represents the Engineering Department on the Design/Development Committee, which is responsible for developing new concepts and/or improvements for use in the Glass Industry. A prior focus of Mr. Carle's activities was in electric furnace design. Since 1970 he participated in all projects relating to electric furnaces and electric boosting. He has been a major contributor to the Company's progress in the electric melting field. As a Project Manager, Mr. Carle also has worked on batch plants, fuel-fired furnaces and process systems. Mr. Carle has also been actively engaged in the application and design of process computer control systems, and has played an important role in applying computer solutions to TECO's engineering methods. He is knowledgeable in all areas of TECO's work; i.e., refractory, structural, mechanical, and electrical, and the importance of each to the glass-making process. |
| John J. Shea - Vice President, Technical Director |
| Jack Shea received his B. S., Chemical Engineering from the University of Detroit. Mr. Shea is an experienced Chemical Engineer-Glass Technologist and has been associated with the glass industry for over 35 years. Prior to coming with Toledo Engineering Co., Inc. (TECO), Mr. Shea worked for CertainTeed Products (formerly Gustin-Bacon), at their Kansas City fiber glass ("E" glass) plant. He served as a Senior Project Engineer, Superintendent of Furnace and Melting Technology, and as Assistant Plant Manager. Mr. Shea has been employed by TECO since 1971 as a Project Engineer (1971-1980), Manager, Furnace Design (1980-1987), and Technical Director (1987-1994), and Vice President and Technical Director (1994-Present). Mr. Shea is responsible for coordinating, monitoring and advancing the Company's technical efforts. He is also involved in fuel fired and electric melting furnace designs, as well as development of new process concepts for optimizing furnace design parameters and furnace performance. During his tenure at TECO, Mr. Shea has pioneered the company's efforts in furnace modeling and has validated design parameters with operational information. |
| Christopher J. Hoyle - Technical Director |
| Chris Hoyle is a graduate of Nottingham University in the UK where he received a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. Chris is a Chartered Energy Engineer, member of the Energy Institute and Society of Glass Technology. Chris has been in the glass industry since 1980, joining TECO in 2000 as Assistant Technical Director (2000-2004) and Technical Director (2004-present). He is responsible for the design and specification of glass melting furnaces and the development and implementation of new technology. He is actively involved in the application of mathematical methods to improve furnace design and operations analysis for process optimization. Chris’ experience includes all types of glass furnaces and conditioning systems. Prior to joining TECO, Chris was Contracts Manager at KTG Systems, Inc., Engineering Manager at Frazier-Simplex, Inc., and Chief Systems Engineer at King, Taudevin & Gregson, Ltd. in the UK. Before joining the glass industry, Chris worked for GR-Stein Refractories, Ltd. as a Fuel Engineer. |
| Lawrence J. McCloskey - Vice President, Sales and Marketing |
| Larry McCloskey holds Bachelor of Science Degrees in Ceramic Engineering and Math & Physics. Mr. McCloskey has been employed by Toledo Engineering Co., Inc. (TECO) since January, 1996 as Director of Sales and Marketing, involving domestic and international projects, while maintaining his position as President of KTG Systems, Inc., an affiliate of TECO, since 1994. He is responsible for engineering, purchasing, estimating, construction and sales. Prior to his employment with TECO, Mr. McCloskey was employed as Director of Furnace Engineering at Anchor Hocking; as Engineering Manager, Ball Corporation; and various technical assignments at Corning, Inc. and General Electric Corporation.
