Float Glass Plant Isometric of a typical side port glass furnace.

TECO is a large designer/builder of side port furnaces. The side port furnace is primarily used for the upper capacity range applications, i.e. 300 to 700 metric tons per day (330 to 770 U.S. tons per day) as are encountered in the soda lime container and float glass applications.

TECO regenerative furnaces are characterized by their fuel efficiency and low emmisions while producing high quality glass.

In some applications, bubbler systems are utilized to enhance convection flow patterns and to increase melter bottom temperature. Also, electric boost is installed to increase the production rate for a given melter size or to reduce emissions or a combination of these needs. Electric boost is also used to enhance glass quality.
