Float Glass Plant
540 metric ton per day turnkey float glass-manufacturing plant
located in the midwest United States

During the 80 plus year history of Toledo Engineering Co., Inc., we have designed and constructed sixteen (16) glass manufacturing plants on a turnkey basis, five (5) for container glass manufacturing and eleven (11) for float glass manufacturing. Each plant is characterized as moderate in capital cost and exceptional in performance.

A typical turnkey plant schedule, regardless of glass type, is about 15 months from time of order to start-up. Tight schedules are possible with sound project management that controls the engineering schedule, release of major purchase orders early in the design phase, expediting to assure on time delivery of materials and equipment and project engineers in the field monitoring quality of construction and schedule and a technical service team assisting the client in plant start-up and early days of operation. The technical service team also communicates with the client on a periodic basis to assist where necessary.

Turnkey plant concept, design and implementation on a fast-track schedule is a complex undertaking requiring a thorough knowledge of glass industry processes and expertise in many commercial and engineering disciplines.
