Our Story


Toledo, Ohio is the glass capital of the world, and Toledo Engineering Co., Inc. (TECO) is the premier glass industry engineer/contractor. The TECO group has designed and built over 1,000 glass melting furnaces since 1927.

During the history of TECO and its affiliated companies, TECO has:

  • Designed/built 57 new float glass furnaces
  • Added design improvements and rebuilt 48 float glass furnaces
  • Designed/built 16 turnkey glass plants
  • Designed/built over 1,000 fossil fuel fired furnaces
  • Designed/built over 150 electric melting furnaces
  • Designed/built 20 batch plants
  • Modernized over 60 batch plants
